How Assisted Living Makes Care Coordination Easier

As an aging loved one’s needs increase, you may find yourself taking on increasing responsibilities until it becomes a full-time job. Dealing with healthcare providers, driving to appointments and managing medications can feel like it’s taking over your life.

Assisted living allows your loved one to receive a range of support services under one roof. At The Herrick House, we offer compassionate assistance with daily tasks and a full suite of care coordination services. You gain more time to just focus on togetherness and just be the spouse, daughter or son again.

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

No matter how dedicated you are, you cannot be there every minute. Assisted living care provides peace of mind from knowing that someone else can be there when you cannot. At The Herrick House, our nurses and resident care aides are there for your loved one 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They’re not just on call, but on site, actively monitoring and ready to respond to any needs your loved one experiences.

We’re not here to replace you but to make sure someone is always there. If something happens, you’ll hear from us before there is a crisis.

  • You won’t have to call 911.
  • You won’t have to call their doctors.
  • You won’t have to cancel a housekeeping appointment because of hospitalization.
  • You won’t have to drive over in a panic because your loved one won’t answer the phone.

The benefits of assisted living mean your loved one gets all the comforts of home with the support they need. At The Herrick House, our nursing team will be there to provide care coordination every day and help with urgent needs. You’ll be able to just hold their hand and be with them.

On-Site Care Coordination that Handles the Details You’ve Been Managing Alone

Preparing meals, managing medications, driving to appointments every week and caring for daily needs can be overwhelming. In assisted living, it takes a whole team to do all of this, yet you may be trying to manage it all alone.

Imagine what it would be like if someone you trust took all those responsibilities off your plate. That’s what we do at The Herrick House. Our assisted living services can include:

  • Up to six hours of help every week with bathing, grooming and other daily tasks
  • Three chef-prepared meals every day that your loved one will look forward to
  • Apartment cleaning, with laundry and linens done for your loved one
  • Medication and doctor appointment management by caring, trained nurses
  • Social worker care coordination when your loved one needs specialty services

Our on-site nurses will check your loved one's weight and blood pressure every week, order medical supplies and notify you right away if anything goes wrong.

Hospital-Level Care Next Door Without the Hospital Feel

At The Herrick House, help is never more than a few minutes away. Every resident has access to an emergency response system, so someone will know if your loved one experiences a crisis. We're located on the upper campus of Beverly Hospital, which is part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, so help will arrive almost immediately.

Our healthcare partnership with Beverly Hospital also means convenient healthcare. Services like lab work can happen in the comfort of your loved one’s apartment, and they’ll have access to a full continuum of care, right on site. Gone are the days of having to drive to every appointment, hunt for labs and then drive to pharmacies to pick up medication.

When you walk through our beautiful grounds with our gardens and walking paths, you’ll never be able to tell that we share a campus with a hospital. Our courtyards and terraces provide a beautiful setting where you can enjoy time together.

Take the Next Step Toward Peace of Mind

At The Herrick House, your loved one gets a full spectrum of care and support under one roof. With a 24-hour nursing care team, your loved one can thrive in assisted living, and you’ll be able to relax. Not ready to commit? Our respite care service allows your loved one to experience assisted living care for up to 30 days. Respite care is also a great option when you need a break or just want to try assisted living first.
